My Experience

Counselling

I have been seeing clients in private practice since early 2017. Outside of private practice, I have worked in the following counselling agencies:

  • The Wimbledon Guild

  • West London Action for Children

  • Balham Community Counselling Services

I have worked with a range of issues and have particular experience of the following:

  • Relationship issues

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Abuse (childhood abuse, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, bullying)

  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress

  • Bereavement and loss

  • Low self-esteem and self-worth

  • Family, parenting and co-parenting issues.

I also have experience of facilitating therapy groups and support groups with a therapeutic component.

Supervision

I have experience of supervising counsellors of different modalities, both qualified and in training, and both one to one and in groups. I am an approved supervisor for Metanoia’s Person-Centred department and supervise on Re-Vision’s Integrative Counselling training course. I supervised groups of trainee counsellors working short term within the NHS and longer term in the low cost counselling service at The Awareness Centre from December 2020 to July 2021. I see individual supervisees in my private practice.

Training

I facilitate training for Into The Light and ACT Mumbai, two charities supporting survivors of sexual abuse. I recently co-faciliated a personal development course for Re-Vision.

My Values

Drawing on my person-centred philosophy I seek to hold an attitude of openness and respect and to create a space where what clients and supervisees are bringing can be safely explored and difference and diversity is acknowledged, respected and valued. I work to the highest professional and ethical standards, integrating the principles of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework into my practice, attending regular clinical supervision and giving ongoing priority to my own personal and professional development.
